Step one of every "How to come up with product ideas" says to do keyword reasearch on "How to" -- giving us the ever popular "How to tie a tie" DVD series, coming in within the top 5 in every search engine. However, as you go deeper and deeper in the list, you find "How to make a crack pipe", "How to score coke in Dallas", and so on. (Okay, so I made that last one up.) And out of all of this, the thing that surprises me most is that blondes are more popular. ;-) I’ve been amazed, doing keyword research how many drug-related themes are also infesting our cesspool of humanity.

Reality TV shows would be the obvious choice: trying to figure out which housemate/dancer/jungle explorer is to be voted out by looking at search volumes.
