Glad I could help, and I'm glad all of you pointed these errors out to me. I was feeling like I was leading you on a snipe hunt for awhile, and I felt really bad.

One thing I do want to remind all of you to do is once you get your sitemaps set up, log into Google Sitemaps and Yahoo Explorer and make sure you add them.

If you were getting errors before, use the resubmit function. Otherwise, Google and Yahoo will ignore you.

As long as your sitemap is displaying according to the example I gave you above, this should resolve the error problem.

I've been in business about 7 years now, and one thing I've learned is that no matter what solution you choose, there isn't one that is perfect.

My big thing is that I want to get my stores done and let them do the work. Then I can just work on marketing them.

If you need further help, please ask. I don't know all of the answers, but I love this project, and so I'm willing to contribute to help everyone get the most out of it.

I don't understand a word of the site map coding discussion here, but then I'm a writer who can just about do bold in HTML and that's it!

I may come back to you for help at some point.

In the meantime, thanks for the directory your started here with. I'd also add Submit Your Article.com - it's not free, but with a maximum of eight submissions a month to a ton of places for less than thirty bucks, I've had some seriously good Google placings using this route.  

Your contributions are invaluable - you've given us all a standard to follow!

Why doesn't store stacker have a pinging plugin ?

Thanks for your kind words. I too am a writer, so the websites are a necessary evil. I have found in my career that content sites do better. I always make more money when my sites are content instead of straight sales pages.

SS has solved a lot of my problems in creating great sites. Now I can focus on my writing again, and I'm gearing up to self publish on Amazon, among other places.

CloakandDagger, I have no idea why SS doesn't have a pinging function. Sounds like a good idea to me althoug ping is usually for bloggs.

If you want to ping your sites, use Pingomatic. I believe they allow you to ping other sites than blogs.

Pingoat is also good, but it's strictly for blogs, and if you use it for anything else, they will ban you.

True for blogs but the SS now has a updater that should have a ping when it does up date
