Hi Omar,

Can you explain why ebay rejected my application? Could it be due to submitting my url to them?  Sad

I could be sneaky and not provide any url?  Angry

Anyone else have the same issue with ebay affiliate application?

 Cry

Anyone else's application not approved? I don't know why they are so strict on accepting applications. Seems like the amount of signups is limited. But it doesn't make sense, seems like they will approve only if a particular site is profitable to their business. But any new website created everyday will not be filled with thousands of visitors just within days or months, it takes time to build traffic. I don't see paypal, amazon or clickbank and all other affiliate program out there having strict control over sign ups. Maybe it could be due to competition from storestacker, another online store threat for ebay?Huh

Hi,

my application was declined. I contacted their support and got the answer that they cannot tell the secret why they are not accepting. I think this might be because I am from the country that does not have a local Ebay. Otherwise I have no idea...

I setup my stores through Amazon though Wink

Good luck!

As much as i would like to believe that, i am sure we are no threat for ebay. They are a huge company, we are just a small software/internet marketing company. And SS does not compete with ebay, they would make money too if SS users build sites and drive more traffic to them..

I have an established company with good finances, long history, etc. So when rejected I was shocked that so many other small timers are out there with BANS stores everywhere.

I actually got a reply from customer support person at Ebay that contained guarded language. What I mean is the guy was talking in "code" so I would get the message.

I chose the Option in the drop-down box at the ebay application page for "Search Traffic" type of business model. We have the site and that is obviously what you are doing with storeStacker store sites.

That is what got me rejected. Any option that gives indicates you have a website(this you the red text notice that certain guidelines apply) will get you rejected.

I know even larger companies that have been rejected by Ebay in the last 5 weeks.

Sounds crazy, but that's the way it is. The support guy told me to wait 60 days and then re-apply under a different business model. I can only guess at the correct one!

I'd say that is the option to be a sub-affiliate or whatever that means... that does not require "certain guidelines" when chosen.
EBay is shooting itself in the foot, like many companies overreacting to the number of Ebay affiliates who abused their system.

My Decision is...
Shopping on Ebay is not the same as it once was... Looks like a slaugherhouse compared to shopping at Amazon

If you look at a "Related Items" list using Ebay in StoreStacker Category pulling Xbox(or same thing from any feed from Ebay) it will be showing a few items from Womens Lingerie for the category of Xbox consoles.

I can do without Ebay for now. That may change, but what SS pulls for me from Amazon looks nice and tidy and works

I did not email to their support asking why they reject me, i applied to be an ebay affiliate the 2nd time using different email and without indicating my website url. They too reject me.  Roll Eyes

what you mentioned seems like they reject people without making any sense even if it is a multi-national company. Sounds crazy when it is so easy to sign up for an account at amazon, plus these days, signing up for anything online will be instant most of the time.

My ebay appp was denied too. I am a newbee with store not yet set up. Guess I should just give up on ebay. This is interesting article regarding ebay and affiliate treatment. This is not Spam!

eBay recently did a lot of "HouseCleaning" after they started their OWN affiliate program and left Commission Junction. Many folks with Build A Niche Stores (BANS) got kicked out. I know the creator of PhPBay a PHP plugin for eBay has now made a pretty funky plug in for Amazon (very much in beta) as many of his users got "The Letter" from eBay and lost their incomes over night.

Don't take it personally if eBay turns you down. I for one was very much attracted to Store Stacker because you do not have to have your business (eggs) all in one basket, there is OverStock, Amazon, PayDotCom and so on and so on, so don't focus on eBay as you are certainly not alone and many, many LONG TIME sellers and affiliates are not very happy with eBay right now.

Here are some of the reasons my site was rejected. See the last 2 items:

You are not in compliance with the eBay Partner Network Agreement and/or Code of Conduct.
The stated website that you plan to promote us from is non-functioning or inaccessible
The quality of your stated website is not in line with our network standards
The information you submitted in your application (contact information and your description of how you plan to promote eBay Partner Network) is incomplete or unclear
Your business model or stated website does not appear to be one that would attract eBay buyers (the eBay Partner Network does not currently provide commissions for bringing eBay sellers or listings to the site)

Your business model involves re-directing traffic directly to eBay from display ad networks or paid search (no longer allowed per our Terms and Conditions)
Your business model involves a sub-affiliate model (no longer allowed per our Terms and Conditions)

Is there a fix for this?
